The goal of this Audition piece is to create a song that makes the listener think of a peaceful day of organization. Picture a crisp fall day in your apartment, where you have all the time in the world to organize your planner, color code your closet, bake a pie and listen to that new album. The feelings I hope to achieve are: peace, tranquility, inspiration, excitement, warmth, comfort and joy. The images attached below are a representation of how you should feel when listening to this audio clip. When I think of days like this I hear the sound of Dave Brubeck on a turntable, a broom sweeping across the floor, the oven beeping, pages turning and a fire crackling. When I was younger I used to play with iMovie to edit videos but I have never successfully edited audio clips. I am hoping that my final product will tell enough of a story that if you were to close your eyes you could picture an entire scene occurring. I have learned that background noises are just as important, if not more important, than the foreground. In order to properly set a scene using audio, multiple layers must tie together so I am planning to usea at least 12 different clips. Music in movies is so important because it tells the viewer how they are supposed to feel in every scene. If you were to take the words away and just use the video and audio clip, you should be able to identify the tone based on the auditory cues.
